45th Rattray's Sikhs - Subadar-Major Bahadur Mial Singh
A veteran of the 45th
at the age of 80. This man was one of the original soldiers
of the regiment when it was raised in 1856. His medals include
the star-shaped Order of Merit, the highest award for bravery
allowed to Indian soldiers. The other medal is for the Indian
Mutiny.
