Fighting in the
Tseri-Kandao pass: The 13th & 36th Sikhs attacking the
village which they took & held for the night
The Illustrated London
News - "In the desert from the Tskri-Kandao heights
the 15th Sikhs were hampered by their wounded and had to
signal for help. The 36th Sikhs were promptly sent out to
reinforce them, but the combined force was fiercely attacked
by the enemy. Night had fallen and the position was one
of considerable danger. Colonel Haughton accordingly attacked
a village help by the tribesman, and drove the enemy out
after a sharp fight, and held the position until the morning,
when he was able to rejoin the main force in camp."
