The night attack
on Sir Bindon Blood's camp at Nawaghi
On the night of September
15 the Mohmands made a determined attack on Sir Bindon Blood's
intrenched Camp at Nawagai. They began the assult at 9pm,
and continued firing and making rushes until 9 am. They
often attacked three sides of the camp at once, and their
rushes were so determined that in the morning several bodies
were found a few yards of the parapets. The guns fired star
shell at intervals, and this enabled the Queen's Own (Royal
West Kent) and the Sikhs to clear the open ground.
